ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND PROMISE TO PAY

1. I understand that by submitting a registration for class(es) offered by Wentworth Institute of Technology or the Colleges of the Fenway Cross-Registration program, I am incurring a legal obligation to pay all tuition and fees associated with this registration.

2. I acknowledge that I am accepting the responsibility for payment of all charges associated with my registration. If I am using federal, state and/or institutional financial aid to cover all or some of the costs associated with my registration, and I become ineligible for all or some of this financial aid, I am still responsible for paying any outstanding balance owed to Wentworth. I further understand that I must begin attendance and fully complete all my classes to qualify for my grants, loans and scholarships for this term.

3. I understand that my Wentworth E-Bill will be posted online through My Wentworth/Leopardweb, and that all billing notices will be sent to my Wentworth assigned email address. It is my responsibility to review my bill and ensure that any outstanding balance is covered in full on or before the published due date on the E-Bill.

4. I understand that account balance(s) not paid when due are subject to a late fee, a hold preventing registration and access to grades and transcripts, and/or deregistration or housing cancellation. Seriously delinquent accounts may be placed with an outside collection agency. I understand that if my account is sent to an outside collection agency, I will be liable to pay all late payment fees, collection charges, attorney fees, court fees, interest and any other costs and charges necessary for the collection of any amount not paid when due.

5. I give Wentworth permission to alert me about important billing related information by live or automated phone calls to any of the phone numbers I have provided. I also authorize text messaging to the cellular phone number I provided in my application.

6. I acknowledge that failure to drop class(es) by the end of the Add/Drop registration period for the term will not relieve me of the financial obligation for those class(es).

7. I understand that if I later decide NOT to attend the class(es) I registered for, I must complete, sign and submit an official Withdrawal Form to the Registrar’s Office. Any balance due as a result of financial aid and/or tuition and fee adjustments will become due immediately. NON-ATTENDANCE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE OFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL.

8. I acknowledge that if I am registered into a class(es) by the Registrar’s Office, I am also responsible for covering any balance associated with the class(es).

9. If I withdraw voluntarily or if I am academically withdrawn from Wentworth and am in possession of a Wentworth laptop at the time of my withdrawal, I understand that it must be returned to the Division of Technology Services. Should I decide to retain the Wentworth laptop, I agree to pay in full any Laptop Recovery Fee charged to my account.

10. I acknowledge and agree that this Acknowledgment of Financial Responsibility and Promise to Pay is a promissory note, a legal debt instrument authorizing Wentworth Institute of Technology the right to take legal action to collect the debt I have promised to pay.
